Follow these steps to create Email connection to an iOS device like iPhone or iPad
- On the iOS device, tap Settings
- Tap Mail
- Tap Accounts
- Tap Add Account
- Tap Other
- Tap Add Mail Account
- Complete the following fields
- Name
- Password
- Description
- Tap Next
- Ensure IMAP is selected.
- Enter your incoming mail server information
- Hostname: mail.bss.systems
- Username: your email address
- Password: your password
- Enter your outgoing mail server information
- Hostname: mail.bss.systems
- Username: your email address
- Password: your password
- Tap Next
- The iOS device will attempt to establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers. If this succeeds, you're done and can proceed to step 20. If this fails, you will see the prompt, "Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?"
- Tap No
- Tap Save
- Tap Next
- When prompted, "This account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want to save,"
- Tap Save
- Tap the account you just added (identified by your email address)
- Tap Account
- Scroll down and tap SMTP
- Select the mail server you just added identified as mail.bss.systems
- Select ON for Use SSL.
- Select MD5 Challenge-Response for Authentication
- Type 587 for Server Port
- Tap Done
- Tap Account to go back
- Scroll down and tap Advanced
- Select ON for Use SSL.
- Select MD5 Challenge-Response for Authentication
- Type 993 for Server Port
- Tap Account to go back
- Tap Done
- Tap the Home button
- Tap the Mail app to check your configuration.
The IOS Device is now set up to send and receive emails.
