How to Set-up Email for Thunderbird

Follow these steps to create account in Thunderbird

 

  1. In Thunderbird, go to Tools
  2. Click Account Settings
  3. Select Account Actions
  4. Select Add Mail Account
  5. Complete the following fields
    • Your name:       type your full name
    • Email address:  type your full email address
    • Password:         type your password
      • Remember password is automatically selected once the password is entered
  6. Click Continue
  7. After Thunderbird detects your Settings, select account type: IMAP
  8. Click Manual Config
  9. Verify that the server configuration is set as follows
    • Incoming
      • Account Type:        IMAP
      • Server hostname:  mail.bss.systems
      • Port:                       993
      • SSL:                       Auto or  SSL/TLS
      • Authentication:       Autodetect
    • Outgoing
      • Server hostname:   mail.bss.systems
      • Port:                        587
      • SSL:                       Auto or  SSL/TLS
      • Authentication:       Autodetect
    • Username:  type your full email address
  10. Click Re-test
  11. Click Done
